Training - Don Keller

Started my training on Tuesday and it's obvious I'll need the entire nine months of training to condition myself for the race. I haven't ran on over a year and I'm at an all time high with by weight. (That's not a good thing).

The Starting point:

Tuesday night I weighed in at 195lbs. I went out and ran about a 1.5 miles and it wasn't easy. I can tell I'm really going to have to shed some pounds. Time is not important at this point as I'm just trying to start slow and get my body ready to train.

Wednesday night I weighed in at 192lbs. I ran about 2 miles in 22.5 minutes after work and felt a little better than Tuesday's run. It's still obvious that I'll need to work hard and lose some weight to be successful.

I'll take the next couple of days off from running and let my legs heal. I hope it doesn't get cold for a couple weeks so I can build a base. I don''t like cool weather so it's important to get a base established now so in March I'm not starting from zero.

Today is Thanksgiving and I'll try to push back from the table.
