Well it was another Sunday. My day for the long run of the week. I did not plan this one to well. I went to Chili's after church and got a big bowl of chili. My son didn't want his corn dog so I ate that too. Plus a bunch of fries and a few ribs. Not a good lunch to have on the day of the big run. I was planning on running around 4:00 but wife got called into work so I had to run around 2:00. Plus it was about 25 degrees when I started. Needless to say this run was a struggle. My legs felt good and my lungs felt good but my stomach was really churning. Thought I was going to see that chili again. I had to walk a couple of time for a total of about 3 minutes of walking. I managed to get my 8 miles in in 1 hour and 15 minutes. Now I just have a easy run on Tuesday and my speed workout on Thursday. 6 weeks to 1/2 marathon.
Sometime in the next week or so the Hood to Coast race committe will review the legs and start assigning legs so you can start training for the kind of run you will have in Oregon.
